There is only one living and true God. He has revealed Himself to mankind as God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
Every person is created by God and has eternal value to Him.
Every person has disobeyed God (sinned) and the only hope of having fellowship with God restored is through Jesus' death on the cross.
God offers redemption to all though a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our purpose as a local New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is to carry out the work of the kingdom of God under the Lordship of Christ.
Statement Of Faith
Kitsap Lake Baptist Church is in agreement with "The Baptist Faith and Message".
The following summarizes our beliefs. It is not intended to be a full statement but, rather, to provide a brief overview. A detailed statement, with scriptural foundation, is located at http://www.sbc.net/bfm/bfm2000.asp and may be downloaded for easy reference.
We believe that the Bible is God's divinely inspired written revelation of Himself to man.
We believe that there is only one living and true God. He has revealed Himself to mankind as God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God created mankind in His own image and for fellowship with Him. Every human life has eternal value to God and is worthy of respect and Christian love. Every person has disobeyed God (sinned) and the only hope of having fellowship with God restored is through Jesus' death on the cross.
We believe that God offers redemption to all and that there is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
God's Purpose of Grace
We believe that it is through God's grace that He redeems (buys back from sin) those who believe in Jesus Christ. Though still subject to sin through neglect and temptation, all true believers endure to the end, kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.
We believe that the church is understood on two levels: The Body of Christ which includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation; and the local New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ which is an autonomous congregation of baptized believers who covenant together to carry out the work of the kingdom of God under the Lordship of Christ.
Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe that Jesus left two ordinances for His church to observe: Baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, following salvation and identifying the believer's new life with the crucified, buried, and risen Savior; the Lord's Supper for His believers as a memorial of His death and in anticipation of His second coming.
The Lord's Day
Our primary public worship time is on Sunday because that is the day when Jesus rose from the dead.
The Kingdom of God includes both His general sovereignty over the universe and His particular kingship over those who place their faith in Him. The final realization of His kingdom awaits the return of Jesus Christ.
God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end and only He knows when that will be. The unrighteous will be consigned to everlasting punishment in Hell. The righteous will live forever in Heaven with the Lord.
Evangelism and Missions
We believe that is the responsibility of every Christian and every church to make disciples wherever we go, beginning with sharing the good news of Jesus with everyone and continuing with training new believers to follow His teachings.
We believe that education should lead people to know and embrace God's Truth.
We believe that our time, talents and material possessions have been entrusted to us to use for the glory of God and for helping others.
We believe that we are not in competition with other New Testament churches but should, rather, take advantage of opportunities to cooperate for the purpose of carrying out the work God has given to His followers.
The Christian and the Social Order
We believe that our involvement in society is critical for the well being of mankind on earth but that the primary goal of all activities is to seek the regeneration of each individual by the saving grace of God in Jesus Christ.
Peace and War
We believe that is is the duty of Christians to seek peace with all men on principles of righteousness. The supreme need of the world is the acceptance of His teachings in all the affairs of men and nations, and the practical application of His law of love.
We believe that a free church in a free state is the Christian ideal, and this implies the right of free and unhindered access to God on the part of all men, and the right to form and advance opinions in the sphere of religion without interference by the civil power.
We believe that God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage of one man and one woman, by blood relation, or by adoption.
